Acceptance

It’s been hard to escape the heat in Calgary over the last couple of weeks. I work from home most of the time so working in a 28° sweatbox has been nothing short of exhausting and nauseating. I decided to refuel my mind and recharge my body with a little yin yoga class and it happened to be in a hot yoga studio. A 30° room plus humidity. Why the heck what I choose to go into a hot room when I’ve been dying to get out of the heat all week?

The funny thing that I realized is that when you CHOOSE to be in an environment, even if it’s uncomfortable you can find peace, calm and thrive. On the other hand, when you are UNEXPECTEDLY put in the same environment not by choice you will run into resistance and struggle to be there.

So I had to ask myself the question, where else in my life am I in an environment I’m not choosing to be in and reacting to that feeling of restriction? How can I shift my mindset and break free, to accept being where I am and choose to be there?

Acceptance is the ultimate sensation of inner freedom, it’s like breaking out into dance as the world goes on around you without any worry or concern, just you... free and full.
